I recently bought a used boat from a friend. Ran great for a year, then found out my engine was totaled due to corrosion! I had seen a couple options for repairs or a new engine and wasn’t happy. I talked to Jason from Norfolk Marine and got great news and ended up buying a new engine from them. Norfolk marine had a really fast turnaround time and also I noticed some small things fixed I didn’t ask to be fixed and would highly recommend their service!

This was my first time at Norfolk Marine. I brought my 2006 Triumph 215cc powered with Yamaha 150. I was having power and throttle issues with my engine. The Team at Norfolk Marine were very informative and made me fill like I had been a customer for many years. They went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied to the point were the marine engine mechanic broke open the engine cover explained what he did to fix my issues and how explained in detail how to eliminate this type fuels issues. What would possess someone from Pennsylvania to drive through two of the most competitive boating states in the US to purchase a boat from Norfolk Marine? After several boat shows and talking to countless salespeople from a multitude of marinas from the mid-Atlantic region, we set our sights on Norfolk Marine and their five star reputation. Tyler Shearins professionalism made our job so much easier. He was very knowledgeable about the boat that would fit our needs. After meeting with him for a short period of time we were putting a deposit on our first boat and were confident that we had made a good choice, backed by a great staff. We were grateful for the attention to detail Norfolk Marine used when installing our GPS, Radios and speakers. The boat looked fantastic and was equipped for safe travel on land or in the water. We really appreciated the care that Paul Wentworth took to explain every detail about the boat and all of its instrumentation. He even offered to accompany us on its maiden voyage in case we had any questions or concerns. We would highly recommend Norfolk Marine to our friends and family. It is well worth the drive from any state.

ABSOLUTELY SUPERB job repowering my 2002 Grady White 330 Express during February and March 2012. From my first conversation with Mr. Jason Murphy, to pickup, transport, and waterborne delivery by Capt. Tyler Shearin and Mr. Dave Stanley, to working with the Service Manager, Mr. Chris Breeden, and the great office staff, there is no where else I could have gone as my previous home marina could not garner the new, present-day, modern Yamaha L/FXCA250s. Everything was explained to great detail, no hidden agendas, nor suprises, and I felt like one of the family every time I either called, emailed, or stopped by the store/shop. I can tell you it was a painstaking process repowering, not just one, but two engines, fly-by-wire wiring harnesses, hubs, rework of the props, new gauges, binnacle/throttles etc. I can ABSOLUTELY tell you that you would not know by looking at my yacht that it was not purchased that way!! There is a reason Grady White recognizes Norfolk Marine funder Mr. Jason Murphy’s leadership, for their pride in meticulous workmanship. Whether it’s routine/preventive maintenance, a full repower, parts, or sale/trade/consignment, there is no other dealership in Hampton Roads to visit.

I purchased a 2013 Gamefish 25 from Norfolk Marine after talking to another less than helpful dealer I couldn’t be happier with the way I was treated by the sales staff. My salesman, Tyler, had a no pressure attitude and was easy to deal with. The boat was delivered on time and John went through all of the systems patiently. I would recommend Norfolk Marine to anyone looking for an honest and accommodating dealership.

Well, Norfolk Marine has done it again!!! Carried boat in last Friday with fuel smell in the bilge and under center console. Service dept. totally backed up. Chris and his staff have repaired the problem, fixed a small gel coat issue and found something else wrong and repaired it as well. Called today (Tuesday) telling me the boat was ready. AMAZING!!!! If anyone wants to buy a boat and be treated like a human being after the sale don’t make any detours and go straight to Norfolk Marine…you’ll be glad you did

My wife and I went to the Feb 2011 Boat Show as complete boat novices. We entered the Convention Center and started to walk and explore each row of beautiful boats. Most of the sales folks were very friendly in highlighting their unique boats. After two hours we came to the Norfolk Marine display and met Garland. Garland immediately noticed our lack of experience and stepped in to offer assistance. What was unique about Garland’s approach was that he began by asking us about our boating experience well before he started to show us his inventory. He knew from the first minute that we not buyers (right now) but fact gatherers/researchers and over the next 90 minutes he spent his valuable time showing us the difference from one boat to the next — dual consoles vs center consoles; outboard vs inboard; engine brands; deep “V” bows vs “gull winged” bows. I told you we were novices. It wasn’t until we neared the end of our tutorial that we found out who Garland was — pretty cool to have the “CEO” provide you with his expert opinions but never, ever pushed a particular brand over another. A very professional experience and one we will not forget.

I always like to give credit where credit is do. Having lived on or near the water all my life, boating has been an important part of it. I’m 60 YOA and still going strong and boat almost daily. My experience with Norfolk Marine Co. started in 1986 when I researched and agreed to purchase my 1st new boat. Since that time I have bought over 10 boats from NMC and had serveral brokered. Expert Salesman Bob Locke has served my every desire & need followed up with their Personable Service & Parts Dept. Staff, always on time, on budget with full disclosure & no hidden agenda. Career wise having been fortunate to work for the Va. Beach Police Dept. for 30 years, 14 of which was spent on the Marine Patrol/Dive Team, I feel I Know what it takes to be a GREAT DEALERSHIP, and Norfolk Marine Co. is “TOPS”. NMC supplied a number of our awesome Patrol Boats over the years and was constantly available to answer questions, give suggestions, tips on maintenance to keep our fleet in a ready to serve/work condition. Now retired, going for daily boat rides NMC is still in my corner, having referred and met many former & present customers of NMC, I can say I’m only 1 of many many LOYAL FANS of Norfolk Marine Co.. I am a new boat owner and have had a number of problems with my boat since I purchased it from one of your competitors. Most of the problems have dealt with the motor and I have been very dissatisfied with the service I’ve received from the company from which I purchased the boat. In the past, they simply fixed each problem at considerable expense but, more importantly, failed to describe in detail how I could avoid a recurrence. I decided to try another company- yours…before I surrendered and decided that boat ownership was not my thing. I contacted Chris Breeden in your service department and have been very pleased with his patience and responsiveness to my many questions. Not only did he explain what the problems might be but he explained how those problems could be eliminated going forward. For example, my carburetor was all gummed up and had to be removed and cleaned this week. Chris sent a technician named Steve to my house where the carb was removed from the motor, taken back to your shop, cleaned there and returned to me in just three days. Steve described, step by step, exactly what he was doing. Moreover, he had to be very careful while he carefully removed the carb from the motor while the boat was still in the water at my pier! In any event, the motor now purrs like a kitten. We also discussed simple maintenace and boat starting techniques–things that I had been doing in error which may have been the cause of many of the motor problems. In sum, I’m very pleased with the entire experience, particularly in dealing with your people. Chris and Steve have been outstanding and I won’t hesitate to call them again in the future. Parts department is “Spot-on” everytime. I tried to use another on-line vendor (Marine Power Service, Farmingdale NJ) to purchase some parts. It took a week to find out some of the parts were on back order. They never called, never emailed, nothing until I called them… twice in fact, and as it turns out part of the reason it was delayed is because their advertised prices were wrong and they were waiting to talk to me to get authorization to charge me the difference! This morning I talked to Jon at Norfolk Marine and ordered the same parts. He emailed me an invoice and let me know the status within 30 minutes. Thanks… and for everyone else that reads this testimonial, if the prices elsewhere look too good to be true, they probably are.

In 2006 I was buying my ‘retirement’ boat, I knew I wanted a Parker. I have never been happier. All of the process from sales to service was friendly and professional. I recently received an ad in the mail from Norfolk Marine advising that you are now a dealer for Suzuki Outboard Engines. I was in need of a 100 service on my Suzuki and a bottom paint job. I worked with John Farlow and Jason Murphy to arrange to have my boat delivered to you at Crab Creek ramp. Just want to say THANK YOU to John and his service crew for repairs made to my trailer recently. Usually with other dealerships you have to wait a long time this time of year for any kind of repairs. John had the boat and trailer picked up at my home in Suffolk and repaired the next day for me to use the weekend. I love my boat and my wife says its my first and last one but if I ever get another one it will most certainly be through Norfolk Marine. My dealings with them have always been top notch. I have nothing but positive comments about your dealership in all aspects. From buying the boat,in the water trial, buying items in the parts dept. and last but certainly not least the service dept. and service manager. You remember the customer is still a customer after the sale which is what seperates a dealer from a great dealership.
